The San Diego Filipino

I met a friend of mine in the library and she is involved in the Kundirana performance coming up in May at the Escondido Performing Arts Center. More details later.

Also she was recently in the Philippines and was able to get going a small, small resource center (books, maps, etc) set up in a barrio. My cousin also sends a balikbayan box full of pencils, crayons, stationery and school supplies to a barrio in the Visayas. If you are like me I had tons of these lying around the house when my kids were growing up and I still have a super-abundance of them which I could really spare and send to kids who could use them.  Another friend sends globes so that the kids have a sense of our world. I have this project in mind of sending the puzzle globes that come in a box which I saw in a bookstore.

I hope this website can gather all these information:  upcoming events, projects to help our kababayans, and as a post suggested perhaps stories about our eateries in the area.
