Filipino Jazz Star Charmaine Clamor Debuts “Hallelujah!” in Northern California

SAN FRANCISCO. Following two sold-out performances at the Getty Museum, Charmaine Clamor, the acclaimed Filipino-American vocalist, will debut her new show in Northern California on April 7-8.

Entitled, “Hallelujah: A Celebration of Rebirth and Renewal,” the show is a soulful, non-denominational celebration of the spirit of Spring. Ms. Clamor will debut songs by Stevie Wonder (“Overjoyed”), Leonard Cohen (“Hallelujah”), and Duke Ellington (“Come Sunday”). The program also includes the popular spiritual “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and other musical surprises.

“Hallelujah” debuts on April 7th (Saturday) at the historic Sutter Creek Theater. Ms. Clamor will be joined by her touring trio, Matt Politano (piano), Dominic Thiroux (bass), and Abe Lagrimas (drums and ukulele).

On Easter Sunday, April 8th (7PM), Charmaine Clamor will perform “Hallelujah” at the Nikko Hotel’s famed Rrazz Room. Her special guest on laud and guitar will be San Francisco’s own Robert “Bo” Razon.

“I’m excited to sing so many new songs,” Charmaine Clamor commented. “I’ve always considered myself a soul singer, and now I get to do a whole program of soulful music. This is going to be a powerful show.”

The Organizers of the 4th Annual High School Filipin@ Graduation of San Diego will be hosting an Informational Meeting this Sunday March 11. We just want to get to know you, mingle, and answer any/all questions Students, Parents, and Folks in the Community may have about the FilGrad. We are extremely proud once again, to announce that we will be holding the all High School Filipina/o Graduation of San Diego.  This will be our 4th year honoring the graduating Seniors of our community.  We hope you will support this event, as it is a free event for the participants, family members, and guests of the community

Although it is called a Filipina/o Graduation, we welcome any and all students who are interested to join, as long as they are graduating High School the 2012 school year.  We hope to a get at least 5 students from each High School interested.  We will be making presentations to any/all campuses interested in participating. Just respond to this email. This event is unique as it not only honors the students with a graduation ceremony, but will recognize each individual student by having them share a few words on stage, and we celebrate their family and friends with a reception dinner afterward.  We hope you share the vision we have for this celebration and make this a successful memorable event.  We look forward to holding this event for many years to come. …and yes, this event is open to the public…
