My aunt & uncle regularly rented a place to Fred in Borrego Springs many, many years ago where Fred gave them several paintings. I also have some of Fred painting and would like to know more, I know my uncle would like to see Fred again if thats possible.

Can you help reunite to old friends? Please send your e-mail to clay@eeiweb.net.

Thanks

San Diego Filipino; some type of oxymoron statement. If we are living, working, and playing in San Diego (or any other US city) then we are FIRST AMERICANS! Hell, most Filipinos I know are/act "whiter" than the white people. Why promote racial difference? We are nothing like our descendents in the PI, except for looks, and maybe language (although it seems that almost all of us born here in the US still can't speak the language, but only understand most of it).

I had gotten this comment a while back last year in August. I have been thinking about this and want to assure everyone that it is not my intention to promote racial differences. I do think that we can enhance our American culture and in addition become better Americans ourselves by cultivating the better parts of our Filipino culture.

Thank you for your suggestion about carrying the stories about these eateries. Those would be a real service to the community. I hope we can get more information about them.

I still would like to have a taste of the Obama pan de sal. Now that I know where to get it I will make sure to visit Richard's Bakery next time.

This blog shows big promise. I would be interested to know the people behind it so I can help in whatever way. I'm Filipino and a San Diego resident.

I also would like to comment on some of our eateries. I believe the real outstanding one when it comes to Filipino and non-Filipino is Point-Point Joint or Turo-Turo on Eighth St. The chicken adobo is so good. Their broccoli is outstanding.

The best bakery, in my opinion, is The Original Richard's Bakery, which is just beside Conching's on Eighth St. in National City. The Obama Pandesal is affordably very, very good. It's really "presidential" in the sense that the taste and everything is first class. The first time I visited the bakery and had a free taste of the Obama Pandesal, I already liked it. So what I did was to buy the six-pack package for the entire family. My family loves it.

If I may suggest, your blog should carry the stories of Point-Point Joint, Conching's and The Original Richard's Bakery. They make us proud as Filipinos. Thank you.
